The Humber Junior Squash Academy was set up in October 2006 with the aim of getting junior squash players from across the Humber area (Kingston upon Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire, North Lincolnshire & North East Lincolnshire) together to attend coaching squads to give them the first step on the England Squash player pathway.
The academies run at Under 9, 11, 13, 15, & 17 levels and are held approximately three times a year.
Over 2500 players have attended academy training since its inception with a number of players representing Yorkshire (County Level), North East of England (Regional Level) and England (National Level).
All coaches involved in academy training hold an England Squash Coaching License, Coach Insurance, a current Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check along with Safeguarding and First Aid qualifications.
Adam Toes (Head Academy Coach) said "The establishment of the squads has proved very successful and has created an ideal environment for young people from the Humber region to get together locally to give them a flavour of what will be expected if they progress to county, regional and national levels. We feel that the academy provides a good structure for junior squash players and we are very proud of to see the achievements of our local players”.
Academies are selected by invitation only and below are the forthcoming dates:
